The East Boston Youth Percussion Ensemble (EBYPE), based out of the Salesian Boys & Girls Club of East Boston, aims to share the joy of hands-on music making with the youth of East Boston. Rooted in a global approach to music that reflects the diversity of the city we live in, members will learn to play drum music from African, Latin American, Caribbean, Brazilian, and American traditions. Open to youth aged 6-12, EBYPE offers young people an opportunity to learn to play the drums in a group setting and to perform their music publicly throughout the Greater Boston area. EBYPE is taught by Ben Paulding, Director of Urban Programming at Inspire Arts & Music.
